I had a four-day weekend! No work Friday through Monday! It's been a mini stay-cation since work has been bonkers and is going to get even busier in the coming months. While the weekend was fun and relaxing, it was also full of blonde moments. Here's a sampling:
This Friday was the first Friday of Lent. I try to be a good, Catholic girl (most of the time) and observe Lenten penance and abstinence from meat on Fridays. My mind was a bit slippery that day. To be fair, I kept thinking it was Saturday since I wasn't at work. You can understand, then, how I mistakenly ate bacon at brunch and turkey tacos for dinner. Dang it. Sorry, Big Guy. The first week is an adjustment period, right?
On Saturday, one of my high school besties was in town. While I was hanging in my neighborhood with Crisp and one of his pals, she texted me and told me she was going to a bar in Beacon Hill. Like a true city girl, I told the fellas "See ya!" and jumped in a taxi to see my amiga. En route, she texted me again to let me know she was "downstairs" at the bar. Upon walking in, I descended two or three steps to the main bar area. Thinking my friend was further "downstairs," I proceeded to walk into a private party, the kitchen, and a coat closet before spotting her near the entrance. I got a lot of funny looks from the other patrons.
Lastly, I ventured out for my first Boston manicure this afternoon. There's a nail salon near my apartment that I have walked past several times. Many several times. So of course today, I walked ten minutes down the street looking for it before realizing I was walking in the wrong direction. Honest to goodness, I think I could get lost finding my way out of a paper bag!
Time to relax. My scrambled, blonde brain is exhausted from all the confusion this weekend. But first, three things I am grateful for:
1. Four-day work weeks!!
2. Panera Bread
3. Sean, my most faithful blog follower
(Here's a selfie that I snapped after getting home this afternoon. I'm clearly disappointed in myself and my poor sense of direction. This picture can go on the milk carton next time I get lost.)
