He's Lucky He's Cute...

Finn is a dog's dog, that's for sure. He is not for the faint-at-heart dog owner.  In fact, he is a rambunctious little monster most of the time... but he's so affectionate and cute that you forget about what a bugger he can be!

Right now, it's shedding season.  There is so much gosh darn dog hair on the floor that I am honestly surprised that there is any hair left on that dog's body. I sweep the floor several times each day and still see tumbleweeds of fur blowing about under the dining table or in corners of the apartment.

Also, he is one smelly little critter.  I brush his teeth each week and get him groomed every two weeks, but boy-oh-boy does that dog stink after 14 days. He smells like Fritos chips that have been sitting in the sun.  Raunchy.  Right now, I am at the laundromat washing his dog bed and blankets, and I am honestly embarrassed by how stinky they are.  They'll be clean and dry soon, though, thank goodness.

It's all worth it though when I get home from work and he greets me at the door, his butt is wiggling in out-of-control happiness.  Or when we're watching TV late at night and he stands guard by the back door, growling ever so quietly at anyone who passes by and threatens his territory. Or when I'm sitting on the couch, and he comes over and rests his head on my leg as a signal that he'd like to be invited to "hop up" for cuddling.

I'm so glad that he's mine... I guess I better go research doggie cologne, grooming coupons, and vacuums.
