Committed

I have not eaten chocolate or anything processed-sugary-sweet in three days. No office candy, no gumdrops that sit in our front lobby, no dessert after dinner. Pigs may start flying out of people's rear-ends. Mary Casey Cakes is (so-far) capable of weaning herself off sugar.

This is quite the accomplishment, seeing that my co-worker sent me an article the other day that compared sugar addiction to cocaine. It actually said that the brain's cravings for sugar can be stronger than that to cocaine. My coworker suggested that I go to sugar rehab.

This week, I continued my workout plan by going to the gym at lunchtime when I couldn't make it after work. AND I cooked a full meal from scratch last night after getting home at 7pm. I basically deserve a trophy. Just kidding. I know a lot of healthy people manage to cook dinner after they work a long day, but it sure felt different for me to do it. I normally would just pick up take out and then sit on the couch for the rest of the night.

I am committed! (Also, I think my pants fit looser today. I know results don't normally happen that fast, but I'm going to pretend that I'm already skinnier and use this feeling as motivation.)

1. I'm drinking herbal tea after dinner to suppress the urge for dessert
2. I am going for a quick walk around campus when I need a break at work
3. I'm bringing lunch AND a big bottle of water to work everyday

Only 114 days til the first day of summer!
